NetPrivateer started out as Sonon Consulting in 2003 and then was reformed into a Limited Liability Company (LLC) in 2004 operating under the name NetPrivateer. The company hired its first employee in 2004 and has since grown to a staff of seven. Over the past five years, NetPrivateer's customer base has grown from a handful to over 100 satisfied customers. In the beginning, NetPrivateer primarily offered LAN / WAN consulting services but has since expanded its operations to include a wide range of data networking and network security technologies.
